Ethical decision-making is an essential skill for every Recovery Coach navigating today’s complex behavioral health systems. In this highly interactive 2-day virtual training, participants will deepen their understanding of ethics, explore real-world ethical dilemmas, and build a personalized decision-making framework they can immediately apply in their coaching practice.
This training, developed by the Connecticut Community for Addiction Recovery (CCAR), creates a supportive space for Recovery Coaches to explore boundaries, role clarity, and professional integrity. Through guided discussion, reflection, and experiential learning, coaches will examine the unique challenges of ethical practice in peer-based recovery support and begin creating their own personal Code of Ethics.
Participants will:
Define ethics and recognize their importance in the peer role
Learn how to "stay in your lane" while supporting others
Explore the process of making ethical decisions
Create clear guidelines for navigating ethical challenges
Apply tools and strategies to real-life coaching scenarios
Who Should Attend:
Recovery Coaches, Peer Advocates, Certified Recovery Peer Specialists, and others working in recovery support roles.
Format:
Live, online via Zoom. Participants must have reliable internet access and a computer with audio/video capabilities.
